Tonight was our last meeting of the semester, and the last meeting that Kate, Logan, Miranda, and I got to present as officers. We presented on anchor charts and their importance in the classroom. They can be used for academics during lessons, small or large group, but they can be used for classroom management as well. They are something that the students have a part in and then can be posted as a resource in the classroom. Below is a link to the Powerpoint. We also gave away raffles at tonight's meeting, it was a great end to the semester!

Guest Speaker
Last night we had a guest speaker for our meeting. Alyssa Nyeholt, a former KSRA officer, who graduated last year came to speak to us about her first year of teaching and her interview process. She had tons of great tips for us. Below I have a link to her powerpoint in case you want to go back to it for reference in the future, or if you weren't able to make the meeting last night. Our next and final meeting will be December 2nd at 5. We will be discussing anchor charts, and the future officers will be presenting on virtual vacations. We will be having snacks and each officer is creating a raffle that everyone who comes will be able to put their name in for! You do not want to miss out!

Classroom Management
At tonight's meeting we presented on classroom management. This is one of the most important aspects of a classroom, students need to feel safe and comfortable in their learning environment and this only gets accomplished with effective classroom management. We discussed a variety of techniques and strategies to have successful classroom management, which is especially challenging for first year teachers. Below you will find our Powerpoint that went along with our presentation and a video of our meeting! This is our first time recording our meetings to post for everyone to see so we hope you all enjoy!
